To add fractions, find a common denominator, convert both fractions, then add the numerators. Example: 1/3 + 1/4 — the common denominator is 12, so you get 4/12 + 3/12 = 7/12. If adding mixed numbers, convert to improper fractions first, then add.

Find the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) of the numerator and denominator, then divide both by it. For 12/18: the GCD is 6, so 12÷6 = 2 and 18÷6 = 3, giving simplified fraction 2/3. A fraction is fully simplified when the only common factor is 1.

GCF (Greatest Common Factor) or GCD (Greatest Common Divisor) is the largest number that divides evenly into two or more numbers. For example, GCF of 12 and 18 is 6.

LCM (Least Common Multiple) is the smallest number that is a multiple of two or more numbers. For example, LCM of 12 and 18 is 36 (multiples of 12: 12,24,36... multiples of 18: 18,36...).
